Choosing window coverings from a website or a showroom wall is a bit like choosing paint from a chip the size of a stamp. It looks right under the store lights, and then it comes home and the room tells you a different story. That is the whole reason we bring the showroom to you. Your windows, your light and the way you live in each room are what decide what will work, and we can only see those in your home.
If you have never had an in-home consultation before, here is exactly what happens, start to finish.
Step one: you reach out
Call us at 306-717-1092, send us a message on Instagram or Facebook, or fill in the form on our contact page. Tell us a little about the project: a single room that is driving you crazy, a whole house you are building, or a piece of furniture you are not ready to give up on. We will find a time that works for you.
You do not need to know what you want yet. Most people do not, and that is what we are there for.
Step two: we come to your home with the samples
We arrive with fabric books, material samples and working examples, so you can see and feel the options in your own light instead of guessing from a photo. A fabric that reads warm cream in a showroom can turn cool grey on a north-facing window. A sheer that looks delicate on a rack can look heavy against a big wall of glass. Seeing it in place settles those questions in seconds.
Step three: we ask how you actually use each room
This is the part most people do not expect, and it is the part that matters most. Before we suggest a single product, we want to know:
Which rooms get the hard afternoon sun, and which ones stay cool and dim?
Who sleeps where, and how dark does each bedroom need to be?
Are there little hands or pets around cords?
Do you want to open and close everything yourself, or would a remote or a schedule make life easier?
How much privacy do you need from the street or the neighbours?
The answers shape everything. A nursery, a home office and a living room with a view each need something different, even when the windows are the same size.
Step four: we measure every window ourselves
Custom window coverings live or die by the measurement. We measure each window ourselves, check whether it is truly square, and note anything that will affect the fit: deep sills, trim that sticks out, handles, vents, or a window that is a little off level. We also work out whether an inside or outside mount will look and perform better in that spot.
Getting this right at the start is why the finished product fits like it was always meant to be there.
Step five: honest recommendations across the brands we trust
Because we are not tied to a single brand, we can recommend what is genuinely right for each window rather than what happens to be in stock. We work with trusted brand partners including Graber, Alta Window Fashions, Norman, Alendel Fabrics and Maxwell Fabrics, so the options cover blinds, shades, shutters, drapery, motorization and soft furnishings like custom cushions and reupholstery.
Sometimes the honest answer is the simpler option. If a room only needs one layer, we will tell you.
Step six: your quote, with no pressure
Once we have the measurements and you have narrowed down your favourites, we put together a clear quote for your project. Take your time with it. Ask us anything. There is no pressure to decide on the spot, and we are always happy to come back with a different sample if you want to see one more option in your space.
Step seven: we order and we install
When you are ready to go ahead, we place the order with our brand partners, who produce each piece to your exact measurements. When it arrives, we install it ourselves, check that everything operates smoothly, and show you how it all works before we leave. Installation is the thing our clients mention most in their Google reviews, and we take that seriously.
